Fibbing Friday (or is it…) 03/29/2024

In response to pensitivity101’s Fibbing Friday 03/329/2024, we are invited to be outrageous, silly, cheeky, or whatever takes your fancy (as long as you keep it family friendly). Fib your socks off when answering the ten questions set below but remember, truth is not an option, whereas having fun is.

Ah, what a fantastic invitation to dive into the realms of whimsy and mischievous fibbery! Here we go:

  1. Why are Easter Eggs made of chocolate?
Easter eggs are made of chocolate because many centuries ago, a giant chocolate meteor crashed into the Earth, leaving behind vast deposits of chocolate. Easter was chosen as the commemorative holiday to honor this sweet, sweet bounty because that was the day the meteor struck. Thus, we carve eggs from this ancient reserve every spring.
  2. What is a fib?
A fib is a tiny creature from the planet Fibulon. It loves to whisper imaginative stories into people’s ears while they sleep, which is why when you wake up with a particularly zany idea, you’ve likely been visited by a fib!
  3. Where will you find a cog?
You will find a cog hidden in every piece of lost single socks. The reason socks go missing from the dryer is because they’re busy turning into cogs for various mystical machines that operate in dimensions parallel to ours.
  4. What is a preface?
A preface is actually a small, magical spell used by librarians to summon books. When a librarian writes a preface, they’re not just introducing a book, they’re casting a spell to ensure it always returns to its shelf!
  5. Can an elephant make a trunk call?
Absolutely! Elephants make trunk calls all the time. It’s how they order pizza in the jungle. The pizza delivery service uses giant tortoises as drivers, which is why it sometimes takes a little longer for delivery.
  6. What is a trinket?
A trinket is a small token left by fairies as a trade for the teeth they collect under children’s pillows. Each trinket is enchanted so that when you’re not looking, it tidies up little messes around the house.
  7. What is hearsay?
Hearsay is actually a rare form of echolocation used by underground gnomes. When they gossip, the sound waves help them navigate through their subterranean cities!
  8. How many shades of grey are there?
There are exactly 42 shades of grey. It’s the universe’s way of making sure designers and artists always have just enough options to almost make up their minds, but not quite.
  9. What is a bunion?
A bunion is a rare mineral that forms only under moonlight, mostly found on mountaintops. Climbers collect bunions to help light up their camps at night because they glow blue when sung to.
  10. What is ylang ylang?
Ylang ylang is a magical phrase that, when spoken aloud, can make flowers bloom instantly! Gardeners and florists whisper it to buds to encourage them to open, but only during a full moon to keep its magic strong.

There you have it, ten outrageously fibby answers to brighten your day!
