Mirage

A mirage dances on the horizon’s line,
Teasing the thirsty with visions divine.
In deserts of reality, how we pine
For lakes of wine and towers that shine.
Chasing dreams, oh what a race,
Each shimmering hope, a fleeting chase.
Laugh as the sands shift in jest,
Time’s cruel trick upon our quest.
Yet, in pursuit of that which glimmers,
Life’s palette grows brilliantly dimmer.
Embrace the mirage, and you will find,
True oases are in the mind.
