And even those people who don’t admit to making mistakes have seen others make them. So whether it’s the mistakes you’ve made, witnessed in others, etc., write a poem about it today.

Ode to Oops

I tried to cook, a simple feat,
But smoked the kitchen—burnt the meat.
The dog won’t touch my charred filet,
Guess we’re both dieting today.

My texts are quick, a rapid thumb,
Sent “I love you” to the wrong chum.
Now Bob from work avoids my eyes,
And meetings have a new disguise.

I danced with grace, or so I thought,
Until my foot the table caught.
A flailing spectacle of limbs,
My elegance on woeful whims.

Once tried to fix a leaky sink,
Flooded the floor quicker than a blink.
Now I paddle through the hall,
My cat’s new sport: indoor waterfall.

We all trip up, make our blunders,
Life’s full of technical wonders.
Yet through each gaffe, misstep, and flub,
There’s room to laugh—aye, there’s the rub!
