The Cage

In a room where light seldom dances,
Lies a cage, an iron-laced glance
At freedom’s edge, a boundary marked,
Where dreams are whispered, shadows sparked.

Its bars, they rise like stoic guards,
Holding back the flight of hearts,
A keeper of the silent tales,
Of clipped wings and windswept sails.

Within, a spirit paces, trapped,
By chains unseen, its essence wrapped
In layers of silent resignation,
A living, breathing incarnation

Of hope that flickers, yet persists,
A sunbeam through the morning mists,
A testament to the strength within,
The whispered courage to begin.

The cage, it seems, is not just steel,
But thoughts that bind, that make us feel
Confined to what we know and see,
Blind to what we might yet be.

Yet imagine, if you will, a key,
Forged in the fire of adversity,
That unlocks more than just a door,
But windows to the soul’s core.

For every cage has its release,
A path to find your inner peace,
To spread your wings, to soar, to rise,
Beyond the cage, into the skies.

So let this cage be not a prison,
But a lesson, a pivotal decision,
To live not in the shadows cast,
But in the light, free at last.
