Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie’s Photo Challenge #498

Beneath a sky where stars dare spread,
Lay Clyde the Camel, resting his head.
With gear strapped tight, on red sand bed,
He mused on life with cheer and dread.
“Another day of tourist treks,”
Thought Clyde, “My back, it feels like wrecks.
But who’s to say I’m not the star,
Of desert tales, both near and far?”
His teeth agleam in moon’s soft light,
A grin spread wide to tourists’ delight.
He’s not just any beast of burden,
But a photo op, of that he’s certain.
“Say cheese,” they’d laugh, as shutters clicked,
While Clyde imagined he’d been tricked,
Into a life of sandy tours,
Instead of one with grand allure.
Yet Clyde, oh he’s a clever chap,
He knows there’s power in his gap-toothed yap.
For every grin and goofy pose,
He’s the memory that forever glows.
So here’s to Clyde, the desert king,
Who turns each ride into a thing,
Of joy, of jest, a hearty laugh,
A camel’s worth, more than half.
And as he lies beneath the stars,
Counting shutters, tires, and cars,
He dreams of days with less to cart,
But grateful for his desert part.
For every snapshot with a guest,
He’s not just good, but simply best.
A dromedary delight, in every way,
Our Clyde, the star, just made your day!
