Tattoo…you? Do you have a tattoo? If so, what’s the story behind your ink? If you don’t have a tattoo, what might you consider getting emblazoned on your skin?

Since we no longer receive daily prompts for our blogs on WordPress to jumpstart writing, I have a book from the editors ofWordpress.com called 365 of Writing Prompts. So, for today Friday, November30th, the prompt asks:

November 30 Tattoo… you? Do you have a tattoo? If so, what’s the story behind your ink? If you don’t have a tattoo, what might you consider getting emblazoned on your skin?

I actually have two tattoos on my body, currently and sort of want a few more. On my right upper should, I have the name of my oldest daughter, that I had gotten when I was 19 years old, she was about 6 months old.

I had just moved into my own apartment in Los Angeles, CA. I had a boyfriend, at the time and we thought it would be a brilliant idea to get our names tattooed on each other. Needless to say, I was the only one that ended up with a tattoo on my left wrist. I figured I would put it on my wrist so I can cover it up with a bracelet or watch so my family wouldn’t see. Getting a name tattooed on our bodies in my family is an “absolute no-no”. But, I felt I was a genius and knew everything, and got it. I instantly regretted it a few minutes later, ugh. The things we do while growing and learning about life.

I eventually got the tattoo covered up with a pretty Hibiscus flower.

I am not sure about my next tattoo. It has been over 20 years since my last tattoo. I am not in a hurry but still want one.
